The warming and cooling procedures of a heat pump each have their own value of efficiency. A heat pump’s cooling efficiency is calculated by “Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating”. Its warming efficiency is calculated by “Heating Seasonal Performance Factor”.
In warm moods where you’ll require to generate cold air often and warm air sometimes, you’ll need to select a heat pump with higher SEER. In cooler climates, you’ll need to make sure that your heat pump has higher HSPF.
Extremely economic heat pumps typically cost more than cheap economic models. You may need to consider how many months it will need to pay off this raised cost through economies in your energy note. If you are planning to leave your current home within a few months, you might prefer to put in a smaller efficiency heat pump, as you are unlikely to recover the additional cost. (Of course, money is not the single gene to consider – you may be prepared to pay more to concentrate your house’s affect on the environment.)
